The Palliative Medicine program is a medical service focusing on relieving suffering and improving quality of life for anyone dealing with a serious long-term illness. The Palliative Care Team, consisting of a palliative medicine physician and nurse with assistance from a social worker, chaplain and volunteers, as needed, to provide aggressive symptom management, links to community resources, disease education and emotional support for patients and their families. This program is helpful for those still seeking curative treatment, who need support for management of symptoms.
